Agree to that.  I change my Mobil1 at least every 12-14K miles.  My Father's 
SE-R has gone 19K with Mobil1. He had a oil analized at his job and took samples 
on the car on a regular basis.  He shoots for 15K now. Has 210,000 and just 
broken in.

You're just wasting money and generating 2X or 3X as much toxic waste. 
Do not fall for the Jiffy Lube myth.  Synthetic oil lasts A LOT longer 
than 3000 miles.  Send a sample out to Blackstone Labs for analysis. 
You can go 7 - 10K on Mob1.
