Glass Pack Resonator Muffler Tips

I've got a resonated tip on my car.  It's a Vibrant 3.5" OD, 2.25" inlet
that I had expanded at a muffler shop to 2.5" so it fit nicely on my
2.5" outlet muffler.  Even though the inlet was 2.25", the inside is
2.5", so it's not a cramp on flow.

Does it help?  A few subjective on/off tests says a bit, but not hugely.
  I got it 'cause I wanted a good looking tip that wasn't too ricin'
big.  Any sound dampening is a bonus.
