electrical gremlin

Hey gang,
The other night I got I the car and all the dash lights were out.
(Yes, I checked the dimmer.)  I checked fuses, but couldn't tell which was
the correct one and pulled them all.  All the fuses were good.
Questions: Are they even fused? if so which fuse is it?  Any other
suggestions where to start looking for the problem?  I just want to see my dash
at night (I'm sure the authorities would agree)
