This just hit me here at work.
Tell me if this could be feasible... taking some UMHW poly material and
cutting the mounting plates like Omer designed, and using the same UHMW
material to cut a bar with. Then, taking the three pieces and instead of
welding them using some of that 3M jet weld stuff or some their structural
adhesives...
Of course your measurements would have to be way more accurate than how Omer
did.. I don't think it could be adjsutable..

The reason why I say UHMW (ultra high molecular weight) or even UHDP (ultra
high density polyethylene) is that it would be lighter weight than using
steel/aluminum and possibly offer the same rigidity? Just a crackpot
thought...?? too many bananas for breakfast I guess??
