Maybe not dumb, but probably not needed.  I have always been under the
impression that ethylene glycol coolant either had lubricant in it or had
enough lubrication property to it that an additional lubricant was not needed.
I think the same is true for Red Line Water Wetter, which would at least
increase your cooling system's efficiency.
The additive might be Snake Oil....
