>From someone who knows Ben almost better than anyone on here, he has his
reasons for not drinking, and I respect them. Drinking is not a requirement
for fun, and I'm sure Ben wasn't implying that. I do drink a little, but
not enough to get drunk. The Convention is a great gathering of SR20
people. Some drink, others don't. I only had 4 watered down beers Saturday
night, but I had fun watching others get tore up. This year was more of a
frat party than past years. I'm sure the people staying in the hotel near
the pool area hated us, but oh well. We paid to stay there just like they
did. A few of us went off for dinner Saturday night, so I missed the party
in the rooms. Sunday night was the best night. A few of us hung out in the
parking lot, while Mike worked on a few cars. We just sat around shooting
the shit until almost 1am, and the only drink I had was at drinner.

Ben was posting his views on what he heard about this weekend. I really
wish he would have made it this year, but he had his reasons, and none were
from what happened the past 2 years. Ben, the convention was not one big
drink fest. It was just like the 2 years past, meeting people, driving on
the track, metting more people, standing around in the sun all day, meeting
still more people, and realizing that we are very lucky to belong to such a
kick ass group of people. This is my thanks to the AZ-SERCA region, and the
KC crew better start planning now to beat them. I only wish the Conventions
were not once a year, but twice or more.
