Daily Driver is a 2000 BMW 328i that I bought when the turbo G20 was
totaled in 2003. Despite some of the maintenace issues, I still
absolutely love this car. Sometimes I think about getting something
different, but there is nothing out there that interests me any more
than this car. I even thought about a G37-6MT, but I know I'd miss
the E46. Although I bought it off-lease, it is EXACTLY the car I
would have ordered if I had BMW build me one at the time. The only
thing I may have ordered different is the color and this (black)
would have been my 2nd choice. It needs some TLC and some paint
touch-up, but at this point I don't even worry about the dings
anymore. They are unavoidable on a DD and I no longer worry about
them. My Garage Queen is a 1998 BMW M Roadster. Wonderfully fun car,
but not exactly the best DD. I did DD it for 2 years while working
one variouso projects for the 328i. Sadly, it's taken some dings, so
IT will have a visit from the dent doctor. Currently has a dead
battery (apprarently there is a low level constant draw) and a CEL.
When the weather cools off some and it's possible to drive it again
(too bloody hot in Houston now for a roadster), I'll have to get
after the CEL. This car is FUN. Very visceral to drive. Tons of
torque.
